22nd September 2011

We are delighted to announce that after a successful pilot conducted earlier this year, City & Guilds, the leading vocational education provider, have chosen to partner with RM Education for the onscreen marking of their functional skills examinations.

The service will be based on RM’s innovative scoris Assessor e-marking solution and will also include examination script scanning, application hosting, and supporting operational services

Through the implementation of scoris assessor combined with the marking services provided by RM Education, City & Guilds expect to make significant improvements to its assessment processes.

City & Guilds Operations Director Terry Gibbons said:
“At City & Guilds, we are always looking for new innovations to improve our products and services for our customers and their learners. The agreement with RM will enable us to rethink our approach to marking and make improvements that will provide real benefits to assessors and external verifiers, as well as our employees.”

RM Assessment Managing Director, David Brooks said:
“We are obviously delighted to be partnering with the biggest name in vocational education in the UK. City & Guilds play a vital role in educational transformation in this country and for us to be part of their ‘best of breed’ technology strategy is very exciting.”
