RM has over thirty years experience on designing, implementing and hosting solutions that provide the highest level of service to our customers. Its high performance, high reliability systems are specifically targeted at the demanding requirements of awarding organisation delivering high stakes exams.
Secure and resilient systems
All core systems are hosted in secure, resilient hosting centres, such as Telehouse in London and RM’s own purpose built hosting environment in Abingdon.
All locations are certified to ISO27001 and have a particular emphasis on security and availability. Hosting centres include diverse power supplies with both Uninterruptable Power Supply and generator backup. In addition, hosting centres include the availability of high bandwidth, high quality Internet connectivity, provided by diverse resilient feeds.
Infrastructure
The core infrastructure used by RM to deliver its on-screen services is supported 24/7 and is designed for high availability with resilience to component failure.
The infrastructure is protected by secure industrial strength firewalls and includes intrusion detection and virus protection. Availability and performance is monitored around the clock, with automated alarms and reporting included.
RM manages multiple infrastructures to deliver on-screen services to different customers. These include dedicated high performance systems for large volume customers, and shared infrastructure supporting multiple awarding sessions and awarding organisation where appropriate.
The RM solution has been designed and demonstrated to perform under the intense peak loading of high stakes examination sessions. In live operation, scoris assessor has successfully delivered in excess of 2.5m scripts in a single session with daily script upload of over 100,000 scripts, and marking of over 50,000 scripts per day.
ISO27001 certification
RM is committed to delivering all of its assessment business in line with ISO27001.
Its core systems are housed in some of the premier UK hosting locations, such as Telehouse in London, where ISO27001 certification has already been achieved.
RM Assessment itself holds ISO27001 certification for “The provision of System, Information and Hosting services” and “The provision and operation of Electronic Script Management and E-Testing systems and services“.
